My first job after graduating from
The Technical University of Denmark (DTU), was actually a continuation of my thesis work (in metrology).
I worked on a couple of projects for the
Centre for Geometrical Metrology (CGM), which is part of the Danish National Reference Laboratory for Dimensional Metrology (
NGM).
(I designed the logo for NGM!)
Upon completion of the projects at CGM, I was offered the opportunity to do an industrial Ph.D. in plasma arc cutting at
Odense Steel Shipyard.
I soon ended up doing metrology related work (calibration of robot installations) in the automation department.
After a relatively short stay, I wanted to try something new.
In 1998 I went into technical writing/technical communication, which is more or less what I’ve worked with since.
November 2008 I started my own business,
nbCOM (part of
nbGRP), where I offer my expertise within the fields of technical communication, technical writing, user experience and information design, on a freelance/consultancy basis.
